The electric room heater uses a rectangular wall mounted panel with a layer of conductive paint producing joule heating when the electric supply is connected. The panel heater is constructed from two rectangular sheets of asbestos cement with a small separation between. The sheets are held together by U-section aluminium framing round the outer edge. The front panel has its inner surface sprayed with a conductive paint with a mixture of carbon, refractory oxides, and binding resin. Electrical connections are made round the edges of the painted area. The back sheet has a reflective layer attached to the inner surface to reflect heat to the front panel.
