The competitive game includes two playing members (12,14), each of which includes a pair of arms (24-30) pivotally connected to a body (16,18), and a head (20,22) releasably attached by magnets (52,54). A shield (32) is connected to one arm of each member, and a hammer (38) is connected to the other arm. The hammer will strike the head of the opposing playing member to disengage the head of that playing member if the shield of the opposing playing member is not in position in front of the head. A manually operable actuating mechanism (64) is operatively connected to each of the playing members for selectively pivoting the arms of each of the playing members.
