In reciprocating machinery, the force of the reciprocating mechanism on its actuator upon recoil often causes excessive wear on the actuator unless the recoil force can be damped. A further aid in reducing wear is the use of the damping mechanism to space the reciprocating mechanism from its actuator. This is accomplished by using a recoil and positioning mechanism for a reciprocating member (32) utilizes an accumulator (50) to absorb recoil force. The reciprocating member (32) is reset after recoil to a predetermined position to avoid contact with a force imparting eccentric drive (20). This mechanism is particularly useful in absorbing recoil and repositioning the intermediate impact link of a rock breaker.
|
