<p>PURPOSE:To extend life of a brake pad in such a way that resilient materials are inserted between guide holes of a torque member and slide pins providing a mechanism to return a caliper to the initial position before starting the braking by their resilient force. CONSTITUTION:Ring-shaped resilient materials, namely seals 52, 53 are inserted between guide holes 5, 6 of a torque member 1 and slide pins 12, 13, and a caliper returning mechanism 54 is provided with grooves 50, 51 to return a caliper 9 to the initial position before starting the braking by their reslient force and said seals 52, 53 which are arranged in these grooves 50, 51. When liquid pressure supply into a liquid chamber 21 is stopped, the caliper 9 is returned in the direction C by the reslient force with which the seals 52, 53 try to return to the initial state resulting in a return to the initial position before the braking. Then, a pad holding arm 11 also returns to the position before the braking, to prevent a pad 16 on the outer side whose position is restricted by the holding arm 11, from entering dragged dragged state with a disc brake 30.</p> |
