<p>The belt drive has two or more similar parallel belts, a lever with a spindle on the free end at right angles to the plane in which it swings, and a stationary safety switch in the path of the lever. It is particularly for a drive with a differential between the driven pulleys. The two jockey pulleys on the lever have individual spindles parallel to each other and positioned preferably 180 deg. apart on the spindle on the lever so as to turn on it. The safety switch is cut in by the force from one belt and the return force acting on the lever, on the changeover from the normal condition with two belts running over their respective pulleys to the danger condition where only one is running over its pulley.</p> |
