<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single storage water heater body electric hot water supply system in which maintenance is facilitated by eliminating the need for stopping the boiling operation immediately after failure of a temperature sensor for controlling the boiling temperature thereby eliminating the need of calling a repairman every time when a failure occurs. SOLUTION: The electric hot water supply system comprises an electric heater 4 located at the lower part of a hot water storage tank 1, a plurality of temperature sensors T1 , T2 ,..., Tn for detecting the residual hot water and controlling the boiling temperature located at positions of different depth of water, and a boiling temperature control section 6 for controlling conduction of the electric heater 4 based on the output from the lowermost temperature sensor T1 . The electric hot water supply system is programmed such that failure of the lowermost temperature sensor T1 is detected and the function thereof is taken over by the second lowest temperature sensor T2 and the function of a failed temperature sensor is taken over by an immediately above temperature sensor.</p> |
