The air cooler has heat exchanger ducts, formed by ribbed tubes for the medium to be cooled, and which may be sectionally covered by blocking units, to alter the cooling action. The heat exchanger elements (1) are positioned delta-shaped, at a relative angle (2). The blocking wall (6) is located between the free ends of the heat exchanger elements (1), along a horizontal line (3). The triangular intermediate space is divided into several flow channels (5) by dividing walls (4). Each blocking wall is displaceable parallel to the horizontal line.
