<p>A high-voltage circuit breaker has, parallel to at least one main pair of contacts, another pair of auxiliary contacts for the control of a switching resistor. The drive lever system of the latter is rigidly connected to that of the former so that the auxiliary contacts are opened and closed before the main contacts. The auxiliary moving pin consists of two telescopic parts. An interlock fixes them together in the ON position and a release frees them in the subsequent OFF position. The stationary contact (32) rests on a cushion of elastic material (28), pref. polyurethane, and can move against a spring (35).. This is a simple way of eliminating the extra heavy springs and interlocks, needed when the switch has to be cut out immediately after closing.</p> |
