<p>A milling or grinding appts. for grinding down and cleaning the working surface of a meat chopping block comprises a milling tool mounted on the end of a revolving shaft and surrounded by a rigid ring for guiding the revolving head. This support ring is axially adjustable on the casing. The support ring is itself in turn surrounded, at a radial distance, by an elastically deformable screen or skirt, also in the form of a ring, which when not yet deformedprojects axially beyond the end face of the support ring. This skirt is pref. of material permeable to air, more specifically may be composed of an annular brush of synthetic fibre bristles. For the regular cleaning of meat chopping blocks in butchers' shops, large kitchens and the like. The use of a surrounding skirt, esp. of bristles, ensures that all the material ground off the face of the block is retained and does not escape sideways to pollute the surroundings. No vacuum cleaner system or extract system is required. The retention of the ground-off particles is achieved without any need to increase the dia. of the rigid support ring.</p> |
