Signal transmitter using periodic interrogation signal - has directional aerial array with overlapping radiation cones, coupled to interrogator via multiplexer

The signal transmitter is esp. for information exchange between vehicles and route control stations. It uses a periodically turnable interrogation signal. Triggered via a directional aerial system. This signal is reflected selectively, in response to the associated information, by an answering device passing the aerial system at a preset distance. The aerial system compares several linearly adjacent aerials (A1- A3) whose radiation cones overlap outside the preset distance. The aerials are connected to the interrogation device (A3) via a multiplexer (SC4). Pref. the passing of the interrogation devices takes place in a preset direction. The aerial system has the individual aerials in a straight line at right angles to the preset passage direction.
