<p>The impregnated soft joining material is partic. for a cylinder head gasket, and comprises a supporting sheet with layers of soft material either side. These layers have, on the side towards the sheet, a high concentration of impregnating material, decreasing steadily towards the outside surfaces, so that these are free of it or nearly so. Before the layers (2,3) are pressed against the sheet (1), the impregnating material can be applied either to the latter, or to the sides of the layers towards it.</p> |
