<p>PURPOSE:To make an opposed type disc brake applicable even to a rotor with different thickness through application of a caliper body composed of 3 divided portions. CONSTITUTION:In the caliper body, a center body 4 is held between inner body 2 and an outer body 3 and those bodies are integrated into one unit by aligning oil passages 11, 12 and 13 by means of through bolts 14, 15. Brake oil introduced through an opening port 13a is supplied into respective cylinders 9, 10 from the oil passage 13 via the oil passages 11, 12 and a rotor (not shown in the figure) is pressed between an inner pad 5 and an outer pad 6 which touch the fronts of pistons 7, 8, resulting in producing braking force. In consequence, proper selection of the width l of the center body 4 serves to determine a proper distance between both pistons when they are assembled, whereby, properly responding to a variety of thickness of the rotor.</p> |
