A liquid metal cooled nuclear reactor of the kind wherein the fuel assembly is submerged in a pool of coolant contained by a primary vessel housed in a concrete vault. The roof of the vault carries heat exchangers which are immersed in the pool of coolant, the lower ends being hydraulically damped against oscillation caused by seismic disturbances.
