<p>NEW MATERIAL:Antibiotic SF-2050 having the following properties: dibasic salt which moves to the direction of anode in high-pressure filter-paper electrophoresis at pH 6.7, and has relative mobility of 1.6 when mobility of cephamycin A is taken as 1.0; Na salt thereof is white powder; easily soluble in water, moderately soluble in CH3OH and slightly soluble in CH3Cl, etc.; an aqueous solution show UV absorption maximum at 295 nm; elemental analysis: C 32.5%, H 5.0%, N 5.8%, S 13.3%; Rf value of cellulose TLC is, in an example, 0.59 when developed in CH3CN : water=7:3; deactivated with NH2OH. USE:Antibiotic effective to Gram-negative and -positive bacteria including those resistant against known antibiotics. PROCESS:SF-2050 substance -producing fungi belonging to streptomyces genus (FERM-P No.4358) are cultured; and SF-2050 substance is separated from the cultured substance.</p> |
