PURPOSE:To produce a rotary magnetic head with good workability by providing respectively a pair of head gaps to both ends in a longitudinal direction to form a head chip and mounting this to a rotary cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A head core block half 10 provided with a pair of grooves 11 to be used as winding window parts on both sides of a butt surface 9' (a symbol 12 is a relief groove) and a head core half 8 having an optically flat butt surface 9 are joined by way of a nonmagnetic gap spacer provided on the surfaces 9, 9', thence the assembly is cut along broken lines 13, and both end faces are polished, whereby head chips 14 formed with head gaps 5, 5 on both ends in the longitudinal direction are formed. Thence, the above-mentioned chip 14 is mounted to a rotary cylinder 6' in a manner that both end parts thereof project by a distance (h), whereby the rotary magnetic head of high accuracy is formed. |
