PURPOSE:To improve abrasion resistance by bonding magnetic ferrite plates on both sides of a sheet core using an Fe-Al-Si alloy, as strap plates, and piercing notched holes into the strap plates. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic gap 2 is provided on the tape sliding surface of a sheetlike core 1 consisting of an Fe-Al-Si alloy. Strap plates 3A, 3B of high magnetic permeability ferrite which is better in abrasion resistance than the Fe-Al-Si alloy. For example, single crystal or polycrystalline ferrite plates of MnZn ane NiZn or the like are bonded on both side surfaces of the core 1. Further, notched holes 4A, 4B are pierced to the strap plates 3A, 3B near the mangetic gap 2 so as to leave the core 1 by a required head track width. Thereby, the head which is superior in abrasion resistance and practicality is obtained. |
