PURPOSE:To improve the mixed gas ignitability at the time of starting an engine by continuously discharging a spark ignition plug at the time of cooling starting to perform continuous ignition at the time of starting the engine. CONSTITUTION:A power transistor 6 is controlled by a signal from an ignition signal generatng circuit 1 at ordinary time. A starting signal (a) and an engine rotating signal (b) are supplied to a discharge control circuit 4, and continuous ignition is performed in a predetermined period at the time of starting the engine on the basis of these signals. The period for performing the continuous ignition is determined by a top dead center position detection signal of the crank or a monostable multivibrator. The degree of difficulty of starting may be obtained by a water temperature senser and a lubrication temperature senser. Accordingly, the mixed gas ignitability at the time of starting can be improved.
