PURPOSE:To improve contrast by forming a glass surface on which a phosphor screen is applied with optical fiber glass and mounting a color plate consisting tricolor dots or stripe color elements in front of it. CONSTITUTION:The glass surface on which the phosphor screen 14 of a panel 11 is applied consists of optical fiber glass 12. The phosphor screen 14 consisting of red, green, and blue emissive elements is spread over the inside of this optical fiber glass 12. A shadow mask 16 which is a color discrimination electrode is spaced at regular intervals with the phosphor screen 14. A color plate 24 on which three colors of red, green, and blue are arranged in a mosaic shape is sealed on the outside of the optical fiber glass 12. |
