PURPOSE:To form an electrostatic image by bringing a recorder into contact with one side of an insulator layer, setting a corona charger on the other side, corona- charging the layer with the charger, and applying a signal voltage with polarity reverse to the polarity of the corona to the recorder. CONSTITUTION:A recorder 4 is brought into contact with one side of the insulator layer 3 of electrostatic recording paper 1, and a scorotron charger 5 is set on the other side. By applying a positive voltage to the charger 5 from a power source 14, corona ion currents are supplied to the paper 1. After or while supplying the currents, a signal voltage is applied to the recorder 4 to form a negative electrostatic image on the layer 3. |
