PURPOSE:To increase the resolution of a detected temperature, by selecting the external size suitably and making the temperature characteristics of the fundamental wave and the secondary harmonic remarkably different, in a 2-mode simultaneous energizing quartz oscillator in which the fundamental wave and the secondary harmonic are energized at the same time. CONSTITUTION:The fundamental wave oscillating frequency f1, the secondary harmonic oscillating frequency f2 and the torsional mode resonant frequency are plotted in figure, when the length (l), width W are taken constant and the thickness (t) is changed out of the external size of a 2-mode simultaneous energizing DMR quartz oscillator 7, where a curve 8a shows the fundamental wave of a bending oscillation, a curve 8b shows the secondary harmonic, and the resonant frequency of the bending oscillation is not changed even with the thickness to be changed. On the other hand, curves 9a, 9b show the resonant frequency of the fundamental wave and the secondary harmonic of the torsional oscillation, and the secondary harmonic is about twice the fundamental wave. Thus, the size is suitably selected in this oscillator 7 and the temperature characteristics for the fundamental and secondary harmonic is made different remarkably, allowing to increase the resolution of the detected temperature. |
