The invention relates to the utilization of detergent mixtures containing (a) ester quaternaries which can be obtained by the condensation of fatty acids with alkanolamines and subsequent quaternization of the alkanolamine oligo-ester, and (b) addition products of alkene oxides on fatty acid amidoamines. The detergent mixtures comprise, for example, the advantage over existing products in that they give keratin fibers a pleasant soft touch and simultaneously improve their ability to be combed.
