PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration due to an external due to an external light, by a method wherein a reference electrode is covered with a film made of a light-shielding material, and a part of the film forms a liquid junction part to a conductive material. CONSTITUTION:An internal reference electrode 12, consisting of silver-silver halide, which is housed in an electrode receptacle 14, is supported in a conductive material 14 by means of a partition wall 13, and the electrode 12 is covered with a film 16 made of a light-shielding material. The forward end of the electrode 12 is connected in a liquid conjunction manner to the conductive material 14 through the medium of an ion conductive sintered substance 17. The bottom of the electrode receptacle 11 is formed with a selective film 15. The light-shielding film 16 is prepared by the use of, for example, a colored, opaque plastic material. When the ion selective film 15 is replaced, this prevents the exposure of the internal reference electrode 12 to an external light even if the conductive material 4 is flowed out. |
