PURPOSE:To readily and inexpansively obtain an ambient temperature damper without mechanical and thermal problems by forming a high strength reinforcing ring at the outside of the damper. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of reinforcing rings 16 made of high strength material are provided via an ambient temperature damper support 4b at the outside of an ambient temperature damper 4. The rigidity of the damper support with respect to the electromagnetic force applied to the rotor at the accidental shortcircuitting time can be represented equivalently to the sum of the thicknesses of the support 4b and the ring 16, corresponds to the case that the thickness of the support is increased in the amount corresponding to the ring, and can be set within an allowable range of both the stress and the deformation of the respective parts of the damper 4. Thus, the ambient temperature damper without mechanical and thermal problems can be readily and inexpansively obtained. |
