PURPOSE:To transmit a diagnosis data to perform an orientation for a faulty part and then eliminate the faulty transmission line part automatically in case a fault occurs to a common transmission line in a system in which a data is transmitted between the optical stations via the common transmission line. CONSTITUTION:A receiver R and a driver D are provided independently to each station connected to a common transmission line, and these receivers and drivers are connected in a loop to each other via the common transmission lines 7a and 7b. All stations always monitor the state of data transmission for the common transmission line and then actuate a switch 4a in the first orientation mode if a fault is detected on the transmission line. Then a termination resistance 5a plus a driver D are connected to the 7b side, and a termination resistance 5b plus a receiver R are connected to the 7a side. The diagnosis data transmitted from the driver D is received by the receiver R, and the state of the 7a side is monitored to set the storage part 8a in case a fault is detected. Then the switch 4a is reset to monitor the state of the line at the 7b side in the same way of monitor. After this, the common transmission line is reconstituted according to the state of the storage parts 8a and 8b. Thus the faulty section of the transmission line is eliminated. |
