PURPOSE:To reduce the wear of a magnetic disk due to the collision and sliding of the slider at a high speed by specifying the vol.% of a parent material ceramic and of a ceramic whisker having a specified diameter and aspect ratio. CONSTITUTION:A title device is comprised of a 95-70 vol.% of a parent material ceramic and a 5-30 vol.% of ceramic whisker having a diameter not larger than 5mum and an aspect ratio of 5-100. To make the wear of a magnetic disk smaller, the thermal expansion coefficient of the whisker is preferably not larger than that of the parent material ceramic. And, the above-mentioned ceramic powder and ceramic whisker are mixed, and hot-pressed into the form of a slider in an atmosphere under a vacuum pressure of a degree of vacuum of 10<-3> Torr or less. |
