PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity of a character generator, by reading and storing dots of required character patterns, thereafter by reading out them from the storage device to print them by dots when they are designated. CONSTITUTION:The CPU11 writes-in character pattern information, which is read out by the character pattern reader 1, into the storage device 24 through the input port 14. Next, when a code corresponding to the character is inputted by numeric keys 15 and the code set key 21 is operated, the CPU11 fetches this code with interruption and writes it in the device 24 while causing it to correspond to pattern information written in the device 24. After that, when the character code is inputted from the external to the receiving buffer circuit 23, the CPU11 retrieves the device 24 and reads out pattern information corresponding to a coinciding code to the output port and driver circuit 25 and outputs control data to the output port and driver circuit 26 to perform dot print. |
