Cross country ski binding - has projection on sole of boot fitting in groove in plate on ski

The binding is for recentring and holding laterally a boot on a cross country ski (2). The boot (1) is joined to the ski at the front by a fixing (3) which allows its heel (4) to be raised and has a projection (5) joined to its sole (6) which fits in a corresponding plate (7) on the ski. The projection is V-shaped in section and extends longitudinally along the sole over its arch. The plate has a central groove (8) in which the projection fits.
