<p>PURPOSE:To simplify the coupling with fibers and make the mounting on an optical fiber communication system easy by a method wherein the light is vertically incided into an active layer. CONSTITUTION:The light incided from the fiber 7 on one side to the light amplifier 6 is amplified and incided in the other fiber 7. In the light amplifier 6, the light is vertically incided in the active layer. Thereby, the active layer can be spread as wide as a spot size of the fibers 7 and readily coupled with the fibers 7.</p> |
