Diamond dressing tool for grinding disc - has up to 20 degrees inclined tool shank, negative cutting angle, and 1 to 4 degrees clearance angle

The tool assembly is intended for dressing a grinding disc (5) and comprises a tool shank (7) which is secured in a tool holder at an inclined angle (3) of about 0 to 20 deg. The shank carries a cutting tool in synthetic diamond material with negative cutting angle. The clearance angle (15) is between 1 and 4 deg., pref. between 1 and 3 deg. The cutting tool may have its two side faces (10,11) parallel to its centre line (2), which coincides with the shank axis (2), whilst its front end has two faces (12,13) at an angle (14) to the respective faces (10,11) equal to 90 deg. plus the clearance angle (3) minus the shank angle (15), for use in two alternative positions.
