Fuel injection pump for Diesel engine - has centreless cam follower and directly mounted control sleeve

The fuel injection pump for a Diesel engine has a pumping element (4) which is pre-assembled. It is inserted in a cylindrical housing of constant dia. and clamped in position by clamps. It has a roller cam follower with a centreless roller. The follower is prevented from rotating by a pin. A control sleeve surrounds pump plunger and is mounted directly on it. Rotation is prevented by a pin sliding in a slot. These constructional details give a very compact design.
