The rotary grill is driven round by a water wheel (7) which is fed by water running onto it from a container (2) over it. The water runs off the wheel (7) into a container (10) underneath, when it is used again. The water wheel (7) is formed of U-shaped sections which are cut at acute angles to each other and are inserted into each other to form segments of the wheel, and are supplemented to form enclosed containers.
