The device has a lifting magnet (1) divided into a number of individual magnets (1.1-1.n) which can be separately energised. The lifting magnet is movable between the supply container (2) for the magnetic components and a reception surface into which the components are dropped by de-energising the individual magnets (1.1..1.n) one after the other with relative movement between the lifting magnet (1) and the reception surface (3). The reception surface consists of a transport band divided into a number of adjacent individual bands (3.1-3.4) corresponding in spacing and number to the arrangement of the individual magnets (1.1-1.n) forming the lifting magnet (1), so that each line of individual magnets (1.1-1.n) runs along the length of a respective conveyor band (3.1-3.4).
