A speech aid for a person speaking with a stutter. It enables the person to carry on a dialogue without speech impediment. It also functions as a therapeutic aid. The hearing organ of the stutterer is supplied with a side tone of a suitable sound level and suitable spectral composition when speaking. It eliminates faulty coupling between the speech centre and the vocal chords during the stuttering process. The side tone is released by a sound recorder near the vocal chord. It is decoupled from any extraneous noises in the region.
