The sand-blaster treats the bore of a metal tube, using a carriage-mounted rotary head (2) with radial nozzles (22). The abrasive feed pipe (10) traverses the fixed carriage substructure (1), projecting into the head and terminating at the distribution chamber (24). A fixed sleeve (14) houses the pipe (10) extremity which penetrates the head, locating at least one journal bearing (23) upon which the head is mounted. The substructure may comprise a metal pipe casing (11) which locks into a hexagonal section metal tube (30), locating rollers (32) on adjustable tangential cantilever arms (31). The head casting may take the form of a truncated pyramid with a chamber (24) and inlet (0) and a head cup (28), and has two nozzle (22) apertures (27) on each side (20).
