An adhesive tape wherein, for engagement with a "magic" or touch-and-close tape which bears on its surface a multiplicity of closely applied short fibres of hooked or mesh shape, a surface of a backing film is filled closely with fine short fibres of a fitting hooked or mesh shape corresponding either to the mesh or hooked shape of the touch-and-close tape, while an adhesive is applied to the second surface of the backing film. As a result, objects to be connected to one another in a simple and releasable manner can be connected by the interaction of the adhesive and the touch-and-close tapes, and the adhesive tape can be used to a great extent particularly whenever a high adhesive force is required in the sliding or slipping direction.
