The air supply arrangement for fireplaces applies to domestic fireplaces which may be open or enclosed. It comprises a duct conveying at least a proportion of the air required for complete combustion from outside the building direct to the fireolace. The duct may be run through a sidewall of down the chimney, inside the flue or alongside it. One or more blowers may be fitted whose output may be variable according to the requirements of the fire. There may be a damper for airflow control.
