Covers made from flat lengths of material are forcibly adjustable so as to clear the superstructure as a vehicle drives in and out. They are designed to fit close against it when it is stationary. The covers are used for sealing the gap between a large door and a vehicle in a loading bay. The lengths of material (6) stand perpendicular to the superstructure surface concerned, and are adjustable vertically to it. This means that in one end position they stand on the superstructure surface, and in another end position they are clear of it. They are pref. made of pliant elastic material, with the ends facing the gap edge wound up on storage drums (9,10). There may be one strip-shaped sealing unit for each of the vehicle's four cross-section sides.
