The daisy wheel typewriter utilises an exchangeable cassette containing a type wheel with a specific type face. The rectangular shaped cassette (5) has a top opening with the fingers (2) of the daisy wheel aligned with the impact hammer (13). The cassette has a central spool (6) that locates on the drive shaft that is supported on a spindle (8) with a housing on the carriage of the machine. Spring leaf arms (30) maintain the daisy wheel on the shaft. The cassette has locating pins on the side walls that locate in guides on the carriage during insertion. The spring retainers are swung clear by pivoting (20) to allow the cassette to be removed.
