The invention concerns a device for controlling access to one or several safe exhibit cases, in particular display cases in jewellery stores and museums. The invention is characterised in that it consists of a device comprising at least a passive element borne by the operator(s) (key) and comprising a code, said element(s) being recognised by at least one fixed active element allowing access to at least one exhibit case. In one embodiment, the recognition of a key by an active element enables the user to select a case to be opened. Generally, the recognition then causes the lock of the selected case or of the only case controlled by the active element to open. The different recognition parameters of the active element(s), and hence for allowing access, are programmable and reprogrammable.
