Title compd. was prepd. by liquid phase contact of CO and nitrous ester in the presence of Pd metal or its salts under the 5-200 atm of O2 comprised gas at 20-150≦̸C. Thus, 2 % Pd comprised active carbon catalyst 0.2 g, nitrous n-butyl 30 g, n-butanol 10 g and di-n-butyl oxalate 60 g was reacted under the 60 kg/cm2G CO atmosphere at 90≦̸C for 30 min and then cooled to give di-n-butyl oxalate (yield 94.6 %).
