PURPOSE:To obtain a mirror-surface cut face perpendicular to the axis of optical fiber by cutting the optical fiber by growing a notch made in it by applying tension by pressing the optical fiber, held by a supporting base and holding member, against a cutting base by pressing a pressing member. CONSTITUTION:This is equipped with supporting base 5 provided movably to base body 1, holding member 10 which holds optical fiber 8 at two points together with supporting base 5, oscillatory lever 12 provided in an oscillatory state to base body 1, cutting tool 13 notching optical fiber 8 set to lever 12 on cutting base 3, pressing lever 15 provided slidably to base body 1 and pressing holding member 10 in the direction of supporting base 5, and coating removing means 25 and scraping means 26 for optical fiber 8 between oscillation lever 12 and pressing lever 15. The depression of pressing lever 15 pushes optical fiber 8, held by supporting base 5 and holding member 10, to cutting base 3 and optical fiber 8 is applied with tension to grow the notch, thereby cutting the fiber. |
