<p>PURPOSE:To enhance the Kana (Japanese syllabary)-Kanji conversion efficiency, by registering and generating words, which are obtained in reference between field- based dictionaries, into an auxiliary dictionary. CONSTITUTION:Kana characters of the word unit is inputted through Kana character input part 2-1 and various function keys 2-2, which are used to designate plural dictionaries, by the manual operation of input device 2. This Kana character input is displayed on Kanji display device 3, and user dictionary 4-1, field-based dictionary 4-2, and auxiliary dictionary 4-3 in file memory 4 for conversion are retrieved in order to convert this Kana character input to desired Kanji. This conversion output is displayed on Kanji display device 3, and a character pattern corresponding to the conversion output is indexed from Kanji pattern file 4-4 and auxiliary Kanji pattern file 4-5 and is printed by printer 5. If the word to be referred cannot be retrieved in selected field-based dictionary 4-2 when the user selects a certain field- based dictionary 4-2, the word group which is retrieved from another field-based dictionary or is generated newly is registered in auxiliary dictionary 4-3.</p> |
