PURPOSE:To produce a high stereoregularity, sharp MW distribution polymer in high catalyst efficiencies, by polymerizing an olefin by using a catalyst system comprising solid TiCl3, an organic Al compound and a specifically combined electron- donating compound. CONSTITUTION:An olefin is polymerized by using a catalyst system comprising solid TiCl3, an organic Al compound, an aromatic hydrocarbon and a monocarboxylic acid ester having an olefinic double bond or a benzene ring in the molecule. According to this process, it is possible to produce a high stereoregularity alpha-olefin polymer or copolymer in high catalyst efficiencies. Accordingly, it becomes possible to eliminate an amorphous polymer removal step or to rationalize a catalyst residue removal step. Besides, the high-bulk density polymer thus produced has a sharp MW distribution, so that the transparency and impact resistance of films can be improved.
