<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a secure sealing effect at low cost by a method wherein when conducting desorption in a desorption zone in a rotary cylindrical body, a sealing member is provided for shielding the compartment being located in the desorption zone from other compartments. CONSTITUTION:An open-end part of a gas bag 30 consisting of silicone material is fitted over the entire circumference of a web part of a supporting member 17 for a sealing member (a) consisting of channel sections fitted to partitioning members of the desorption zone. When the compartment is moved into the desorption zone and sulfur oxides are desorbed by heating an adsorbent, pressurized water is fed into the bag 30 through a conduit 34 and a pressurized-water injecting pipe 34 so as to expand the bag 30, whereby the bag 30 is closely contacted to a pressure-receiving part 35 of a column 8 so as to secure airtightness. Accordingly, the hot gas in the desorption zone is prevented from leaking out into the compartments in other zones, and a fire accident is prevented from occurring due to penetration of oxygen- containing exhaust gas. When the desorption is completed, the pressurized water is discharged from the bag 30 and the compartment in the desorption zone is moved to the next zone.</p> |
