The vessel propulsion mechanism comprises a floating body moved to and fro by a lever coupled to it. Below the body is a baffle plate, hinging about an axis between a rest position folded against the body and an extended one roughly at right angles to it. There can be one or more lee boards on the body, guiding it in a straight line, while the plate can be arranged to hinge up and down between two of them.
