<p>Compounds of the formula <IMAGE> wherein R is hydrogen,alkyl, alkoxy, halogen or trifluoromethyl; R' is hydrogen or halogen; R'' is alkyl; Y is H,OH or oxo; and Z is oxo or a ketal function; and salts thereof. The compounds wherein Y and Z are each oxo can have antipsychotic activity. The compounds can be prepared by reacting novel 4- alkyl-4-aroylpiperidines with 4- halobutyrophenones or by reacting novel protected 4-alkyl-4-cyano- piperidinobutyrophenones with aryl Grignard reagents and subsequent hydrolysis.</p> |
