The gate handle comprises a body to whose opposite ends an electric fence wire is secured, in one case detachably. The body comprises a V-shaped bar, one leg of which is bent towards the other so as to form a triangle with the obtuse angle at the bend, while the free end of the other leg is bent towards the first and contains an elongated hole (7). The end of the first leg passes through this hole and is hooked (b). There can be hinges at the obtuse angle and at the fixing point for the wire, together with a return spring. Part of each leg can be enclosed in insulating material.
