PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a color filter free from deterioration in quality by the effect of outside light and backlight and having good aging stability and high quality by laminating an UV absorbing layer on the face of a color filter with disposed color filter layers. SOLUTION: A layer 2 having variable fluid wettability is formed on a transparent substrate 1 by dispersing a photocatalyst and a binder in a solvent, applying the resulting coating fluid and tightly fixing the photocatalyst in the binder by the progress of polycondensation. The pixel part forming parts of the layer 2 are exposed through a photomask 10 to form exposed parts 9 for pixel parts. Inks 12 are jetted from ink jet units 11 into the ink-phile exposed parts 9 to color the exposed parts 9 red, green and blue. The inks are then solidified to form pixel parts 4 (4R, 4G and 4B) and a UV absorbing layer 5 is formed on the pixel parts 4. |
