An open-topped container 10 comprises at least one stacking member 12 movable to a first position extending across the container for supporting a second container to form a stack. Stacking member 12 and the container base 16 comprise cooperating formations 18 and 22 which engage to prevent lateral movement of the upper container relative to the lower container. Cooperating formations 18 are formed to allow a second container raised at one side to slide along at least one stacking member to a final position and be dropped down on to the stacking member to bring the cooperating formations into engagement and prevent further sliding.
