The expansion bolt capable of interconnecting structural elements, in particular one which is hollow and inaccessible from the inside, consists of a threaded shank (1) with a head (2), a threaded nut (6), a washer (5) and a ferrule (4) around the shank between the washer and the head, of a diameter which is not greater than the latter. The end of the shank opposite the head (2) can be engaged by a known tool and the end of the ferrule (4) in contact with the head (2) can be deformed as a consequence of simply manually tightening the nut (6) by means of the tool. The deformable end of the ferrule (4) has a large number of longitudinal incisions (7) made essentially in a symmetrical manner along the periphery so as to open towards the head (2) which is of flared shape. The bolt is used in particular in the fixing of structural elements with metal uprights which have a closed hollow profile. <IMAGE> |
